I recently had the pleasure of staying at Courtyard by Marriott with my family of 4 (two kids 5/7) and I must say it was fantastic. We chose this property due to its close proximity to Disneyland and it was reasonably priced. Breakfast had a good spread (6.30-10.30), room is clean and comes with child friendly play tent. They even had a standing stool in toilet for the lil ones. The toilet can be converted to open concept for quick access of the wash basin from the bed area. The room is spacious and had 2 (queen sized?) bed which we pushed together. There is also a walk in closet. Courtyard offer free shuttle from Pudong Terminal 2 which you can book with the hotel (message through booking.com). We initially booked for the 3.30pm shuttle but ended up using private hire instead as there wasn’t much we could do at the airport while we waited. We also made use of the free shuttle service to and fro Disneyland. Traveling by private hire (didi) is just less than 20rmb. Note that the closest metro (line 11) is a stop before Disneyland, but still a distance if walking with luggages. There is not much to do around the hotel. We visited a local mall (da run fa @ Kang qiao) along xiuyan road during our first evening and we travelled there by private hire didi <30rmb. Separately we like to commend their service staff Luna who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thanks Luna and we hope to see you again.

Upon checking, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. Ms Shannon was very observant to meet our needs and provided assistance during our stay. Also, special thanks to Charles 曹玉龙 for his unconditional help to call the airline for our flight change (Shanghai/zhangjiajie/Beijing) as well as hotel accommodation in Beijing. For the buffet breakfast, there was a wide variety of choices, quality was very good as well, it was well worth the money. The hotel is also very kid friendly as they also provided cotton candy stations during the buffet, free workshops and an indoor playground for the kids. The shuttle service (airport, Disneyland and city) was great and really helped us to save money and time for the commute. We highly recommend tourists to stay at this accommodation!

It is perfect hotel for family with kids whose main goal is disney shanghai. The shuttle buses were such a comfort, to and fro. The hotel have activities for kids so it keeps the kids entertained. My nine year old loved the mermaid room. It was hot but the play thing in the balcony kept her occupied. Loved the staffs friendliness and eager to help attitude. We didn't speak chinese but they had translators and few of them spoke well to communicate, really appreciate it. The hotel was clean and house keeping were really kind, they gave us water and bed and bedding were really clean and fresh, and comfortable. Overall its a total keep for families.

We had a stroller but we were able to rent one from the hotel that could sit two children (which made our life easier in Disney). The breakfast had a lot of options, both Chinese and foreigners, and with good taste and quality. They always had a children movie to entertain them while eating. There is also a big ball park in the hotel completely free for guests. Really happy with our stay and really recommend it for whoever is going to enjoy their time in Shanghai (specially for Disney)

(Tip: do this during mid-day when ur child gets a nap, cus both machines will get occupied in the evenings). Gym is located next to laundry room and kids playground, which I thought was a thoughtful design. There’s also a kids activity just outside breakfast, which my child really enjoyed — all thanks to the kind and gentle lady who was so patient with the kids.
